We are preparing the joint National Women’s Alliance submission to the Australian Government on its priorities for CSW62 and we need to hear from you. In 2018, the CSW’s priority theme is Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls and the review theme is Participation in and access of women to the media, and information and communications technologies and their impact on and use as an instrument for the advancement and empowerment of women.
Call to action
Take part in our survey – we’re looking for key issues on each theme to focus our submission. In all answers, please feel free to provide links to research and resources.
Questions to consider:
- What are the main challenges to achieving gender equality for rural and remote women and girls?
- What are the three most important issues we need to address to achieve gender equality and empowerment of rural women and girls?
- What are the key issues in women’s access to and participation in media and information and communication technologies?
- What is the impact of media and information and communication technologies (ICT) on the advancement and empowerment of women? How can we use media and ICT to advance gender equality?
